Well, I have to say that this is indeed the last posting I can give to this blog regarding the sessions with Prof. Gurinder. Thirteen weeks have passed since I first entered that 3.3 SIS Seminar Room and now is the time to leave the room with a broader perspective and a more open mind-set to the real world we are facing. Nevertheless, here are the four website presentations.
The first group, which is ours, is presenting on music and technology and how it changes the world. We have to know that as the time goes, technology is changing the face of music storage as well. From the creation of music notation to prominence of cloud computing, music itself has been changing. Many genres are generated, many musicians are born, and people's perspective of music is also altered. Please do visit the website for more information!
Vaccines are indeed one of the most amazing medical breakthroughs of all time. While it is extremely important to know the historical perspective and the progress of vaccines, we must also take into consideration that the future of vaccines is quite promising.
Food is indeed one of our basic, yet essential, needs. The focus here, I believe is the convenience food, or the usually called 'fast food'. People from all over the world are now consuming fast food even more because of the benefits it confers : fast, cheap, high calories. However, we have to take into consideration that fast food is not healthy and might possess a bigger threat : obesity.
Crime checking technology is indeed for preventing and solving crimes. Technologies, such as finger-print tracking, DNA tracking, etc., might be the next face of our crime investigation technology.

Second last session.
Four presentations. Three hours. One session.
The first website presentation is about e-commerce. Indeed, the way people sell products have been evolving from brick and mortar shops to online shops. Online shops are now becoming more popular as the proliferation of the usage of internet, diversity of market segments, and changing tastes of the consumers. However, e-commerce is a double-edged sword. While it is undeniably that online shops indeed provide greater convenience to us, we have to bear in mind that online shops possess disadvantage that we have to watch out for. Firstly, the issue of security of payment; secondly, the issue of personal touch. The link provided will then elaborate more on this particular topic, which is the original website of Group A.
Another presentation is about an outlook on motion. Motion can be used and applied in many aspects : tidal waves, subway trains, Kinect, and dynamo. While in the past we only consider tidal energy, in the future, we can see the usage of tiles, resonance harvestors, power generating shirts, and remote robotic surgery.
Finding love online is a new trend among internet users. One of the reasons is because using e-dating might help people find their true love easier. Yet, we have to be careful in the sense that there might be a lack of privacy and there is not enough control over the personal information in the internet.
What is superman's diet? It is related to GM food. The world has now seen many changes in food processing. Regarding GM food, the world also see controversies whether it is safe or not. GM food might provide a possible threat that it might create a new allergic to some certain types of GM food. Another possible threat is perhaps there is a possibility a failure in cross-breeding of GM food that might bring us a whole new problem.
